One of Dr. Beck’s favorite injectable treatments, is BOTOX. He offers this facial rejuvenation treatment to Southlake area patients who wish to soften and decrease forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet. BOTOX is a cosmetic treatment to help smoothen facial wrinkles and combat the visible signs of aging without having to undergo surgery. It is a product that is derived from Botulinum Toxin Type A (or BTX-A), which blocks the facial nerve endings to temporarily paralyze the muscles. When this happens, the muscles relax and stop wrinkling. This function delivers the best approach to smoothen forehead lines, crow’s feet, frown lines or laugh lines. The ideal candidates for this treatment are those who have moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and desire a nonsurgical approach to treatment. The result is a rejuvenated appearance that can last up to 3-4 months.
"First Time Cosmetic Treatment - Dallas, TX - Dr. Beck is highly professional and made me feel really comfortable, as this was my first cosmetic treatment. He takes great care in the level of service he provides and answered all my questions and made me feel I was in good hands. I'm looking forward to going back for more cosmetic needs when they arise. - - My motivation for Botox was to help eliminate some deep set wrinkles and to help prevent the onset of others. I'm in my mid 30's now and prevention is key - so I hear. The treatment went smoothly and it was comfortable. I'm still awaiting the final result but am starting to see some already! Happy!!"- D. / RealSelf / May 08, 2016
"' Attention to detail ' can best describe my visit to the office of Dr. Daniel Beck. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel comfortable with their professionalism, skill, and care, which continues to this day with each scheduled office visit and consultation. I was allotted plenty of time to which Dr. Beck could answer my numerous questions and concerns that were presented. His calm demeanor put me at ease, which proved to me he was the surgeon I would choose for my care. Dr. Beck is not only an asset to Dallas County, but to DFW and surrounding areas as well. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Beck not only to my family and friends, but my colleagues as well. "- T.V. / Google / Jan 30, 2015

"Love my Cheeks and Youthful Glow! - Dallas, TX - Dr. Beck is highly skilled in the field of injectables. He took an extended amount of time with me and his technique was virtually painless. I did have some bruising and swelling, but I bruise with Botox, so that is expected and normal for my face. He is knowledgeable and patient and works with you to achieve your desired outcome in the most natural state. I was searching for a highly skilled doctor who would deliver outstanding results and I am so happy that I found Dr. Beck. - - It has been about 3 weeks since I had injections with Dr. Beck. His technique is so skilled and deliberate that it didn't really hurt and the outcome is spectacular. I did have some bruising after, but that is to be expected with an injection that goes down to the bone. After the bruising and swelling went away, I now have beautiful cheeks that are in the right spot, as well as the marionette lines are lessened and there is no hollowing of my jowls. It is the most perfect outcome from a relatively simple procedure. My husband keeps saying "your face looks so young", which is exactly what I wanted. As well, all of my friends think I look refreshed but not injected. I am truly thrilled with the results!! I even go out with out makeup now, as my skin is firm and fresh, and I no longer need to apply makeup every day. Love the results."- C. / RealSelf / May 22, 2016
Tiny doses of BOTOX are injected into the skin where wrinkles are noticeable. It is normally done in the doctor’s office and the procedure can last from 15 to 30 minutes. The number of injections and dose amounts administered depends on the location and the severity of the case. Patients are first marked with ink prior to the injection so that the practitioner can accurately inject the areas in need of wrinkle softening. This procedure does not create any discomfort other than a normal prick that comes with a small needle. Sometimes a numbing cream may be applied to help with the patient’s discomfort. Patients will be able to go home right after treatment with no downtime from their normal routine.
What to Expect@headingTag>
After treatment, mild swelling and bruising may appear on the injection spots. Patients are advised to limit exercise and to sleep in an upright position the same night as the treatment. The redness and swelling will only last for a few hours, but some patients may experience bruising for several days. There are bruising medications, such as Arnica, that patients can take a week prior to treatment to help minimize bruising. The results from a BOTOX treatment take 5-7 days to appear. When they do, the face will look smoother and brighter, and patients will feel rejuvenated by their fresh appearance.
A syringe of BOTOX can range from $250 to $1,000. Depending on the patient’s case, a session may use 1 to 3 syringes, or more. During the initial consultation, the practitioner will be able to assess how many units/syringes are needed to attain the patient’s desired results.

How Safe Is It?@headingTag>
When administered properly, BOTOX rarely causes any complications. With that said, it is still very important to find someone who has experience in handling this medication. Too much of the product can cause an undesirable outcome. A skilled practitioner will use just enough of the medication to effectively freeze the facial muscles that cause wrinkles while leaving nearby muscles unaffected. BOTOX is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments on the market today. It is safe and effective, and approved by the FDA. BOTOX is also used to treat other medical conditions such as squints, excessive sweating, uncontrollable blinking and migraines.
There is an ongoing trend where people who wish to have BOTOX treatments will gather together and administer the BOTOX doses themselves called ‘BOTOX cocktail parties’. This is very risky. BOTOX, when administered incorrectly, may paralyze unintended muscles that can result in an abnormal facial appearance. BOTOX treatments should be done in a medical setting with an experienced, skilled injector.
Same As BOTOX?@headingTag>
In recent years, BOTOX has seen some competition as other drugs have been approved by the FDA and introduced to the aesthetic market. Dysport and Xeomin are muscle relaxers similar to BOTOX. Each has its specific trending function that can be addressed during the initial consultation. Sometimes, a combination of the drugs is used to treat various areas. For example, BOTOX for frown lines, and Dysport for crow’s feet.
Are Fillers Better?@headingTag>
BOTOX and fillers are both popular cosmetic treatments with the ability to decrease wrinkles and smoothen facial areas. The difference with each is the way the substances function to create the rejuvenating effect. Injectable fillers add volume under the skin to fill hollow areas and decrease the appearance of wrinkles on the surface. BOTOX, on the other hand, relaxes the muscles underneath the skin so that the muscles cannot contract, allowing a softer effect on the surface. It is very common for patients to undergo treatment using both a muscle relaxer and an injectable filler to attain optimal results.
Today, practitioners are treating patients of all ages with BOTOX. For some individuals, for example those as young as 30, BOTOX is considered a preventative way to prevent facial wrinkles. For others (i.e. 40 years old and older), it is a rejuvenation effort to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Older individuals (55 and up) will still receive great benefit from having BOTOX injections, but for some, a facelift technique might be a better option to consider.
How Long Does It Last?@headingTag>
A BOTOX injection will last between 3-4 months. The treatment can be repeated every quarter and for most patients who receive this treatment, they usually come back for more. BOTOX is an effective, easy and safe way to minimize the appearance of facial wrinkles. Patients consider it a part of their normal beauty routine.
